LMFTEUS is part of the mechanical engineering department at Université de Sherbrooke. The research activities involve experimental, numerical and theoretical approaches dedicated to fundamental or applied research in the following areas related to thermofluid and energy:
- Components of refrigeration / thermal systems (supersonic ejector, heat exchanger, magnetic refrigeration, vortex tube, energy storage systems…);
- Characterization of the thermal, physical and mechanical properties of complex materials (ice slurry, nanofluid, PCM, bronchial mucus);
- Efficient electrification and decarbonation of Nordic greenhouses;
- Transport of bronchial mucus in the airways (pneumatic pressure drop, ultrasound, mucociliary transport);
- Wave impact and sedimentary transport in coastal engineering;
- Instabilities, turbulence and heat transfer in rotating machineries.
